Colombian authorities razed the drug lord’s property to the ground in Medellin last month in a campaign to eradicate his evil legacy.
During the demolition of the Monaco Building, eagle-eyed witnesses claimed to have spotted a ghost running through a corridor and shared the baffling footage on social media.
In the clip, a moving white silhouette is visible on one of the floors before the building collapses onto it.
Some social media users believe it may have been Escobar himself, while others claim it was a demolition worker in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Luz Adriana Martinez Gomez wrote: “It is not a construction worker, it is a ghost. If it was a worker, he would not have been waiting there for the building to collapse. It is a ghost scared by all the noise.”
Ivan Andres Vaca said: “It is not a worker. There was a lot of negative energy there. It could be someone who was buried there.”
In the photo – again taken in the Monaco Building – a figure with no eyes looms over one of the building’s balconies and seems to have Escobar’s trademark moustache.
Maria Del Mar wrote: “I know I do not usually post much but this was something that surprised me a lot and I do not know what to think.
“I took a photo of this building and when I zoomed in I saw a human figure.
“I do not know if it is my imagination from knowing the history of the building but the truth is I do not know what to think at the moment.”
